AudioBook!

Moonshine: Path of the Raven now in Audiobook!

One of the things I didn’t expect when I told people I had finally finished and published Moonshine was how many people asked about the audiobook. Close to half of the people I talked to remarked that they listen to books/podcasts and other material when on their commute, doing the dishes, or just getting on with their day. That was enough to convince me to put the getting the audiobook done at the top of my list.

Since Moonshine is still early in it’s publication journey (read that as “I’m on a budget”) and I’ve lived a fair amount of time as a performer, I decided to do the audio book on my own! Enter Max Shippee, Narrator of Moonshine: Path of the Raven!

Not being a sound engineer, it took me a few tries to get the whole thing right, eventually downloading a template from the blog of the gracious Rob Dircks. That helped SO much in getting the files ready for ACX, Audible’s hub for those that are producing audiobooks.

It took about four weeks of reading and editing to eventually get eight and half hours of me talking. Turns out, that I can’t read more than a couple hundred words without clearing my throat, a siren going by, or simply tripping over my own words that I wrote!

I’d like to think that it was all worth it in the end, as now, after the print publication two months ago, Moonshine: Path of the Raven is now on both Audible and as a chapter by chapter playlist YouTube!

I like to think that the audiobook is going to be perfect for fantasy lovers who love deep character driven stories, but maybe have so much on their plate that they can’t sit still and read everyday as much as they’d like.

That’s all to report for today! Tomorrow I’ll let you in on one of my biggest & oldest fans who’s already enjoying the audiobook!

If you love **coming-of-age fantasy, folklore-inspired fiction, and supernatural twists**, this is the audiobook for you. Let me know in the comments what you think—I’d love to hear your thoughts!
